Pick one. You get a prompt and a timer.

Talk to a random prompt. 15 seconds to think, 60 to speak.

Any of this sound like you?

  • It is your turn to speak and your mind goes blank
  • The perfect thing to say arrives on the way home
  • You had the point. Someone else said it first
  • You keep meaning to ask for the raise
  • You said “yeah, sounds good” to something that did not sound good
  • “Any questions?” and you go quiet, even with three

None of it is a knowledge problem. You know the answer. It just comes out too slow, or not at all. That is a practice problem, and you fix it by practising.

Why not just use an app?

Because an app cannot put you in a room. That is the only thing that works.

Average score across six dimensions. Illustrative.

What we score.

Six things. The same six, every time.

The six dimensions every speaker is scored on
STRUCTURELeads with the answer, then supports it
CLARITYPlain words, short sentences, no unexplained jargon
PACE AND PAUSESVaries pace deliberately, uses silence before the point
LISTENINGConfirms understanding first, then answers precisely
PRESENCESteady and warm, does not hedge, sounds like they mean it
HANDLING PUSHBACKAcknowledges, reframes, holds position without going brittle

You are only ever compared to your own first score.

The games you’ll play.

Every session runs on games like these.

DEFEND THE WORST IDEAa three-minute debate you are guaranteed to lose

“People laugh a lot. That is the delivery method, not the goal.”

Who runs it.

A small team that has spent years running speaking rooms. A fortnightly Toastmasters club for over two years. Workshops for one of India’s biggest coding communities. Years of customer calls at an AI startup. And a speaking-practice app that people use every day, which is how we learned the app is not the answer. The room is.

Between us: strong communicators, and funny enough to hold a room for 90 minutes. That matters more than it sounds.

We run every session ourselves.

Your first Open Mic is free. You will speak in the first ten minutes, and you do not need to prepare anything. Sign up and we will send the next time and link.
