Terms of Service

Last updated 18 October 2026

These terms cover your use of SpeakingLab: the website, the free speaking score, free Open Mic sessions, paid cohorts and team programmes.

1. Who we are

  • SpeakingLab (speakinglab.online) runs live, online speaking-practice sessions for individuals and teams. “We” and “us” mean SpeakingLab. Contact: hello@speakinglab.online.
  • By using the site, booking a session or paying for a programme, you agree to these terms.

2. Free Open Mic sessions

  • Open Mic sessions are free taster sessions held online. Booking a seat does not create any obligation to buy anything.
  • We may reschedule or cancel a session; if we do, we will tell you on WhatsApp or email and offer the next one.
  • We may remove anyone who is abusive, disruptive or records other participants without their consent.

3. The free speaking score

  • The score is generated automatically by software from a short recording and is practice feedback only. It is not a professional assessment, certification or guarantee of any interview or job outcome.
  • Do not include other people’s personal information or anything confidential in your recording.
  • Fair use limits apply (currently a few scores per number per day). We may change or pause the tool at any time.

4. Paid cohorts

  • The individual cohort currently costs ₹2,400 for 6 weeks, unless a different price is shown when you book. Prices on the site can change, but never after you have paid.
  • Payment is by UPI or another method we show at checkout. Your seat is confirmed once we have received the payment and messaged you.
  • Refunds: if you cancel before the first session of your cohort, you get a full refund. After the first session, we do not refund, but you can move once to a later cohort.
  • If we cancel a cohort, you get a full refund or a seat in the next one, your choice.

5. Team and institution programmes

  • Programmes for companies, schools and colleges are covered by a separate written proposal or agreement. Where it differs from these terms, the agreement wins.

6. How we expect people to behave

  • Sessions work because people feel safe speaking. Be respectful. No harassment, hate speech or sharing what others said outside the session.
  • Do not record, screenshot or share sessions without everyone’s permission.
  • Do not misuse the site: no automated sign-ups, scraping, attempts to break rate limits, or uploading anything unlawful.

7. Our content

  • The site, games, rubric, guides, practice pages and downloads are owned by SpeakingLab. You may use them for your own practice. Please do not resell or republish them without permission.

8. Limits of our responsibility

  • We work hard to make sessions useful, but results depend on your own practice. We do not promise any particular score, job or outcome.
  • The service is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the programme in question.

9. Privacy

  • How we handle your data is explained in our Privacy Policy.

10. Changes and law

  • We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version; if a change affects a programme you have already paid for, we will tell you.
  • These terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes are subject to the courts of India.
  • Questions: hello@speakinglab.online.
